Food Forest planting event in Skiathos
In the forest a sustainable livelihood for humans will be created

We are bringing food forests to projects and community places all around Greece, raising awareness and spreading knowledge about the potential of regenerating ecosystems while
producing healthy food.
Unifying and strengthening the network of people and projects locally and beyond.
Our stop in Skiathos Island was a stop in a lush island, so full of water, where a project around children and nature is emerging. This weekend truly brought all of us closer together, weaving ties between all the individuals that came together from all over Greece to this event. We learned how to propagate plants, how to plant a food forest, what it is about the tree layers, and how a forest works. We are looking forward to help in the planting of the food forest in the coming autumn, because June is not a good time to plant a food forest. Should there be another lockdown though in autumn that will not allow traveling cross municipalities, we will support the planting from distance and support the locals around this project to gather and plant together.
Aim
Introduce people to the regenerative principles of permaculture design and learn how to plant and maintain a food forest, connect people from all over Greece and beyond, raise awareness for tools for regeneration, empowerment of regenerative initiatives
Impact:
More than 100 plants propagated and shared between participants, more than 25 participants participated in the event,
