It is quite an amazing experience to plant an agroforestry from zero to end. We had the chance to do this in our friends project Dharma Sporoi in the nearby village Skala Lakonia.
The abundance of species planted here, is huge, the biodiversity created will greatly contribute not only to the food self-sufficiency of the soon habitants of this project, but also to the general biodiversity of the region.
Species such as Strawberry tree, heather, eucalyptus, wild lavander, Loquat, Plum, apple, pear, Kaki, and more more were planted with the help of our whole crew.
Aim
Support a new project, Create Bio-diversity, support the food self-sufficiency, support soil creation, stop erosion, support agroforestry farms
Impact:
Planted roughly 600 trees and shrubs on 1 ha land, shared the knowledge with approx 20 people that were active part of it and the indirect impact those people will have, contributed to one more example of agroforestry in a highly agricultural area
Funding
This planting was funded by The Helidoni foundation as part of our Food Forest Tour.
We are very grateful for their support.
