Unity empowers people and gives them strength

To unite and support people in Greece and beyond, who are actively contributing to a change toward regenerative practices, we co-initiated the Eco-Project Network Greece together with Mazi farm. The network aims to identify and cover common needs of Eco-projects and initiatives that aim at regenerative topics, and to enable collaboration between the involved people. It is a platform to exchange and combine assets of the involved projects and initiatives to co-cover each other's needs.

How

Building trust is the foundation of all successful collaboration

Through regular meetings, though with still a loose structure, we build trust among each other which is the foundation of all successful collaboration, while staying agile to adjust to the changing needs and the environment.
While it is still unclear if and what shape the network will take, we have already seen many positive outcomes, like job matchings inside the network and many new projects evolving as collaborations between members of the network.

Aim

The Eco Project Network aims to identify and cover common needs of Eco-projects and initiatives that focus on regenerative topics, and to enable collaboration between the involved people.

The meetups, although with still a loose structure, are meant to be opportunities where trust is built among each others, the foundation of all successful collaboration, while staying agile to adjust to the changing needs and to the environment.
The program for each meetup is created according to the needs of the Eco-Projects.

For who this is

Each meetup is for Eco-Project Leaders in Greece or representatives of those. Detailed information about events is shared through the Eco Project Network communication channels.

How do you know that you are running an eco project?

- You engage in educational activities,
- Your project and its activities are close to nature physically and in their concept
- Your activities tackle nature and/or human regeneration
- You do your best in including short or long term visitors/volunteers/team-members in the decision process
- You value diversity
- You live some times of the year or continuously as a community, meaning you share spaces, amenities and/or utilities (kitchen, bathroom, toilet, offices etc.)

What started as a common gathering of Eco-Projects across Greece, has slowly transitioned into different regional gatherings that happen every year.

Aim

This meetup is bringing together Eco-Projects from all over Greece, to foster collaboration and build together capacities, acquiring new ones not existing yet within the networking and at the same time sharing capacities amongst members.
The program was created according to the needs of the Eco-Projects.

Topics

On saturday, focus talks will be held regarding the following topics:
Funding;
Erasmus+ Program;
Decision making and social dynamics;
Eco-Building legal aspects

Bridge talks

The “Bridge talks” will explore how Eco-Projects can connect with other sectors, organizations, institutions, actors in order to gain resilience and increase their impact. How can we co-create the future we envision?

PELOPONNESE

1st Meetup Megalopoli | February 2024

Aim

This meetup rose from the deep need of finding collaborative mechanisms to support each others growth in the region of the Peloponnese. Kindly hosted by network members, Crossroads project, over 50 people that are running or starting regional Eco Projects have taken the time to unite and connect.

Day program

As a first meetup of the region, the day was oriented for projects to meet each other and to create relevant connections with regards to location, sector of activity and other relevant factors.
Values and vision of a better future have been shared and people were able to relate to their neighbooring projects missions.
Finally, a nurturing lunch provided by Pam's Pan paved the way to collectively dream and define working strategies of securing a locally regenerative food system.

Previous Meetups

The first meet up happened during the summer of 2019, born out of an identified need to unite the Eco-projects spread across Greece. Since then, 2 other gatherings in 2019 and 2020 took place, each one evolving its format to match the expectations and common struggles of the various members of the network.

What started as a very loose structured meetup is slowly being co-created and transformed into meaningful events that strive to cover common needs, build trust and enable collaboration between Eco-projects and initiatives aiming on regenerative topics.
