Sustainable Hospitality Environment Laboratory for Life

28 May - 13th of June 2022 , Ain, Rhone-Alpes, France

In this 13 days training, participants from 7 different countrieswill gather in a beautiful farm, where an experienced trainer will share his knowledge on regenerative practices around land observations, water management, and permaculture design.
Our dear friends from "PermaLab" will guide us in the designing process of the land with a permaculture approach.

Aim

This training aims to support and train people that work with youth and will be a multiplier for the knowledge and the practices in their area and context.

About the trainer

Chan Sac Balam

Co-founder of Permalab in France

Besides having extensive farming experience in various regenerative pilot farms in France and Mexico, he is also founder of PermaLab, an organization specialized in regenerative farming and hydrological design. Their work focuses on education, consultancy, land and farm planning, design and implementation of many regenerative agricultural operations in France and abroad.
He is also member of the administration board of ADAF (Association Dromoise de AgroForesterie) who supports farmers in their transition to regenerative agroforestry models, through consulting, training and education.

Further he brings to the European context the widely respected educational philosophy developed at Wilderness Awareness School (Washington, United States), which trains
youth and adults to use traditional ecological knowledge blended with the benefits of modern science.

For participating in this course we ask for a contribution of 90€ to support the building up and running of this eco-school all year round in a rural area of France. With this contribution you will support the long-term sustainability of projects like ours and help us to go further.

Acknowledgement

Every participant of this training will receive a Youthpass certificate at the end as well as a certificate issued by us for participating in this course.

Covid Strategy

Our aim is to hold the course without a mask, without risking our safety.
People arriving in France have to undergo a COVID test. This is a national regulation and does not depend on us. It though means that you as a participant will have been tested for COVID 19, and we can rely on this test.
If you will be tested positive, you will not be able to participate in our course, we will though support you to find a place to stay in France until you can travel back to your country.
To ensure that from the moment of your COVID test until your arrival in our farm there has been no risk of COVID infection, you will have to practice social distancing and wearing a mask and not expose yourself to a threat of infection.
Once arrived in our place, there will be no more risk of COVID infection. No people from outside are coming in close proximity with the participants of the course, so be assured there is no risk.
Because these times are very uncertain and we can not foresee if it will be really possible to do the course, we have to stay as agile as possible. Therefore, make sure not to book your flight earlier than 3 weeks before the course begins, to be sure the course will actually happen and when you book, make sure to book a travel ticket (flight, train, ferry, etc.) that will reimburse you in case we have to cancel the course last minute. We can´t reimburse your ticket if the course doesn´t happen. Also we can´t reimburse your travel expenses if you are excluded as a participant because of a positive COVID test result.
If a participant shows symptoms of COVID-19 during the course, we might insist on him wearing a mask and undergoing a COVID test that we will pay for. If the test result is positive, we will make a space where the participant can be in quarantine.
