In this video you see the regenerative earthworks, seeding and planting we did with our non-profit organisation The Southern Lights and the movement Nomad trees in Loutraki, North Peloponnesus, in a project called Eutopia. To support our actions, funding mainly travel expenses, trees, seeds and tools, we appreciate every donation. You can do this via paypal, just follow this link: paypal.me/thesouthernlights (we are a registered non-profit organization, so we can give you a donation receipt if required) This amazing video was done by the Eco-Incubators – Thank you very much! Background: After having gained so much knowledge from our #Erasmus+ Youth Workers Mobility courses with Giuseppe Sannicandro and having planted so much #biodiversity in our #foodforest we felt like sharing our knowledge and bring food forests in other projects, because this is our mission and passion. Here we were in Eutopia project close to Korinth, a beautiful project, which gave us the opportunity to implement some #earthworks, that will help #stop the #erosion and we planted lots of #seeds of pioneer species that will help #builsoil again. Already now, one month and a bit more after this intervention we can see that the place is become greener and the seeds start sprouting. We are very curious to see which seeds will make it in this soil and it is a huge #learning #opportunity for us. Thanks to the our great teacher Giuseppe Sannicandro, the #erasmus programm that make it possible for us to learn so much and the whole team behind, and to Eutopia project for giving us this opportunity and to all great people coming and sharing our passion. We will go to a lot more places, and with the movement that we created with other people together called Nomad Trees we want to spread the knowledge and food forests everywhere. Follow us on this path
This speech by Sheila Darmos is about the reality of farming today in Greece, and how the reality of farming could look like if the consumers support the right farming practices. It is about the importance of knowing ones food producer in person and the potential regenerative farming has to restore soil health. The concept of food forests is explained and an insight into the 34 years organic farm of pioneer, organic farmer and social business man Stavros Darmos is given, which is now in its transition to an agroforestry system aka food forest aka syntropic farming. Emphasis is given to the message that everyone can grow its own food forest and accoplish food sovernty, that one doesn´t need special skills or a degree, but that planting and growing ones food is of the simplest and most basic things every human should be familiar with.
The Agroyoga is a course, co-founded by the Erasmus+ mobility by the European Union with participant associations The Southern Lights – Το Νότιο Σέλας , Naumanni – Permacultura migrante, Reflorestar Portugal and Akape Oli Kalari
