Lo, the proverb comes from the Greek expression "Lo" which is used when speaking to a beloved, respected and appreciated person. In that sense, Lo initiative stems from the love and appreciation towards our land and its people.
The initiative aims to bring together multiple stakeholders to transition the region of Laconia on a regenerative trajectory, encompassing all domains of human activities, such as arts, culture, entrepreneurship, ecology, tourism, nature restoration, agriculture and many more.
The Southern Lights is based and has its roots in Laconia region, and is stewarding the process.
The Bioregional approach
What is a bioregion?
The Bioregional Weaving Lab (BWL) Collective defines the term by “common ecological and cultural-historic features, [that] offer a perfect opportunity for us to reconnect with the characteristics of the geography we live and work in, and to reimagine those landscapes…”
What is weaving?
“Weaving is the practice of interconnecting people, projects, and places in synergistic
and purposeful ways. Weaving involves connecting people to each other and to a
shared purpose; fostering collaborations for systemic impact; facilitating collective learning, iteration, and evolution; and embodying the change we wish to see” (BWL Insights Report 2022).
