The Team
Evy Vourlides
Evy holds a Ph.D. in Sociocultural Anthropology from The George Washington University on Regenerative Design in Greece. Through early research supported by the Fulbright Program, she explored employment strategies and resources during a peak time of youth unemployment in Greece. She shifted her focus when she discovered the ways grassroots ecological projects were helping to reskill individuals and create new paradigms for the future—that is, new possibilities for social belonging and making a living. Her current work centers on the emergence of grassroots ecological projects; how their low-tech solutions can solve big ecological problems, and the specific ways holistic farming approaches can revive damaged biological and social systems. She is inspired by how holistic land practice can rewire the senses, facilitating new capacities and relationships for connecting and relating across species. Evy has worked as an editor, writer, researcher, and teacher. She has taught classes in Sociocultural Anthropology and Research Design and Methods for over three years both in the United States and Greece. Evy has mentored many students throughout the cycle of the research design process. She has extensive experience with project management as well as conducting her own field research.
