Efstathia is a multitasker environmental scientist in love with the natural world. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Forestry and Natural Environment (Auth, 2011) and a thesis in the genetic variation of plants. She holds an MSc degree in Biodiversity Conservation (University of Montpellier and University of Aegean, 2013) and has collaborated with several environmental NGO’s around the world obtaining a lot of field work and research experience in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation and Rehabilitation management. She has experience in leading adult teams as an eco-tour guide in Greece and Brazil and used to operate her own start-up ecotouristic company at Lake Kekrini National Park where she also served for HOS as a Conservation Officer for the Lesser White Fronted Goose. Her dream is to empower and inspire the future generation of earth defenders, promote local ecotourism, low footprint lifestyle, regenerative local food production methods and zero waste practices. She has worked as an environmental educator leading outdoor education and environmental awareness programs for HOS with children and young people.
The informal educational methods and tools she uses have been acquired from her experience as a youth worker and trainer in numerous European projects and conferences concerning environmental sustainability, experiential outdoor education and theatrical workshops. Currently she is attending a series of workshops in Outdoor Pedagogue of Danish Forest Schools with InsideOutNature. She is a dedicated animal rights advocate and a happy vegan mom that volunteers for the empowerment and education of future vegan families towards a more responsible way of living for humans, animals and the planet.
